April Reads, Quiet Inspiration & A Return to Mystery

My dear reader,

April arrived softly, wrapped in rain, books, and inspiration.

This month, I treated myself to a visit to the hairdresser and, naturally, to two new books joining my ever-growing library: Yesteryear and Atmosphere. Atmosphere had been on my wishlist for quite some time, while Yesteryear is already being whispered about as one of the standout books of the season β€” and naturally, I could not resist.

I also immersed myself in the haunting world of Les Mystère d'Eversand La Suivante by Victor Dixen, the opening installment in a captivating four-book series. The story follows Birdie Baker, a young woman who leaves behind her life in Colombia to become a French maid within the enigmatic Rosemore family estate. Yet Eversand is far from what she imagined: behind every corridor lingers mystery, tension, and secrets waiting to surface.

The atmosphere of the novel utterly consumed me, and I quickly continued through the series during May. There is something deeply addictive about stories layered with intrigue, hidden histories, and unsettling elegance.

As spring unfolded, I also continued developing my own projects and exploring the stories that continue to call me back to mythology, history, and emotionally charged worlds.

Yours, from a desk not far from the sea!

Manon
