Book One - Love and Corsets
Versailles has always been marvelled at, with its gilded corridors and luscious gardens, it has been home to the last remaining Kings. But do not mistake its beauty, for underneath the golden layers is a den of vipers ready to tear you down and judge every single move. Helene has been judged all her life; being the daughter of Madame de Pompadour is no easy feat. A legacy she must uphold and a reputation she must overcome, she is thrown into the den by one simple act: a wedding. As Helene navigates both her legacy and the court's sneers, she is soon faced with another challenge. The King has changed the line of succession. Will Helene manage to dream and create the life she always wanted, or will she crumble under the court's gaze?
